Hurricane Danny - Friday, 8/21/2015 @ 9am

Little has changed with the forecast for Danny since yesterday.  The forecast track continues to show Danny moving generally West over the next 5 days.  Danny is currently a Cat. 1 hurricane and may strengthen some more over the next 24 hours.  After that, Danny is expected to gradually weaken to below tropical storm strength as it interacts with drier air, increased shear, and land over the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

At this point, we can't really say whether Danny will get into the Gulf of Mexico or whether it will be a threat to our area.  Most likely, it will be Monday or Tuesday before we start to get a feel for that.  Right now, the best thing to do is to review your hurricane plans, begin preparing your home and workplaces, and watch as Danny develops.  Even if Danny doesn't affect us, there will likely be others, so remain vigilant.
